Suede is a natural product and will change for the better over time as it begins to characterise how you’ve worn it. The key to keeping your suede shoes looking their best is to ensure they’re regularly cleaned and covered with a protective spray to make maintaining them easy.
First thing’s first, use a protective spray on your footwear when you take them out of the box for the first time. It forms a barrier, keeping them from taking anything on that can damage the suede, and makes sure that future cleaning is quick and easy.
Brush your shoes down thoroughly using a suede specific brush – they’re specially built to make sure that they don’t damage or change the appearance of suede. A suede eraser can help with spot cleaning water or oil marks. Simply apply a bit of pressure on the affected area and watch it disappear. Once you’re done, make sure you reapply a protective spray to keep that barrier up.
