Men's Greyson Long Trench Coat
Men's Trench Long Coat
How long should a trench coat be?
A men’s trench coat should generally sit somewhere between the knee and mid-calf if you’re going for a traditional long trench coat. That extra length gives you more coverage from the weather and works particularly well over tailoring, knitwear and heavier layers.
The Wilson is cut with a longer length and regular fit, giving you room to layer underneath. If you prefer something shorter, have a look at our men’s trench coats for the Sherlock and Carter.
Are long trench coats waterproof?
Ours are. The Wilson Long Trench Coat is made from a cotton-bonded technical fabric with a 10,000mm waterproof rating, 2,000g/sqm breathability and taped seams to help keep rain firmly where it belongs: outside.
Where can you try on long trench coats in London?
Try one on at our London stores in Soho, Covent Garden or Spitalfields where you can compare fits, lengths and layers in person.

How do you wear a long trench coat for formal occasions?
The Wilson works especially well for smarter occasions because the fabric has enough structure to hang cleanly from the shoulders and drape properly through the body. The colours stay subtle, while the waterproof bonded fabric gives you that useful mix of durability, style and actual function. Novel concept, we know.
If you’re wearing it buttoned up, straight or relaxed-leg trousers tend to balance the longer cut best. Underneath, the breathability gives you room to layer depending on the occasion: quarter zip, blazer, shirt and tie, take your pick.
