Right, we’ve put ‘shacket’ in the headline there so you’d find us in a Google search, but let’s be clear—they’re overshirts or workshirts. Something about ‘shacket’ doesn’t sit right with us. Not sure what it is. Obviously, the word implies something between a shirt and a jacket, and that’s kind of what they are, but not quite. Regardless, workshirts and overshirts are ideally suited to transitional seasons (that’s anything with equinox). Because they work equally well as a midlayer or outer layer, they’re tough, and they can easily be styled buttoned or unbuttoned, they’ll work for you in just about any spring or autumn weather.

There’s no need to try anything clever when choosing what to wear under your workshirt—a classic White T-Shirt is tried, tested, and a certified champ. You’ve been told. A vest will do the job, too. Or a knitted polo provided you’ve thought about colour and pattern. Don’t wear anything underneath your workshirt that you wouldn’t want to be on show to the public, just in case. If there’s a chill in the air, button that overshirt up and use it as a midlayer. A longer coat is your go-to—do NOT leave a bit of your overshirt poking out of the bottom of your coat.
