Q: What is brushed moleskin, and why is it such a good shout for tailoring?
A: Moleskin is a dense cotton fabric with a sheared and brushed surface, which gives it that soft, almost suede-like handle. It is hard-wearing, wind-resistant and a little more relaxed than traditional suiting cloth, meaning your blazer looks sharp without feeling overly polished.
- Why wear it? Because it brings texture and depth to tailoring, especially in cooler months. It has a matte finish, a bit of substance, and enough structure to hold a proper tailored shape.
